This series of artwork for the new Queen's Hospital was produced as a 'memory – spirit' dedication to Harold Wood, Old Church and King George's Hospitals. The ideas for these pictures have been strongly influenced by conversations with staff, visitors and patients in the course of a number of photographic workshops and photographic 'shoots' on each site. Sometimes an idea would emerge from a detailed account given by someone and at other times from just a throw-away remark. In the course of this work I was privileged to hear many people's stories about the hospitals, often told with great affection. Many people's links with the hospitals had been from childhood or through family or friends.
